Over my 15 years in San Francisco, I experienced numerous acupuncture sessions for various conditions. All were deeply healing and relaxing. The acupuncture session you graced me was something more. Sacred ceremony maybe says it best.
As for specifics, I felt as if my higher self stepped into my body more fully. The quiet mind and immense peace were a delight. They lasted about a day. Gradually I returned to my more usual "human mode."
The akashic reading was less exacting than I had hoped. I think I wanted a recipe...do this, not that, etc. But in the end, I believe it served me well. You helped me to see my work challenges in a new light and shared practical suggestions for how to work with more awareness, groundedness, humor and grace. It is always tempting for me to look for answers outside and you squarely put the focus back on looking inside.—SP

I have had such ease this weekend. After years of insomnia, last night I slept 10 1/2 hours with only one awakening, until 9:30 this morning. I had no idea how deep the pattern of tension has become that I couldn't even "check out" for a couple of hours without waking up. My being responds very well to acupuncture and eagerly surrenders the load, but I am very impressed with the instantaneous release and sense of balancing, even on the first treatment from you. I'm sure our next session will go deeper yet. Thank you very much for giving me the heart of your Friday evening. I have my concentration back, a sense of peace and even hope. You said your work is heartening and I wanted you to know how much you have helped me already. I look forward to my upcoming Akashic Acupuncture with anticipation. The things that have held me back are mystifying to me, but are always there. Hopefully with your help I can make my peace with them, and finally move ahead with real freedom.—KM, Journalist/Author

Hello Linda Joy,
I came to you with recurrent "sick headaches" and soon saw them lessened. Now I hardly remember ever having had them. Thank you!
I came to you with serious issues "of the heart" and blindness to how those endlessly ramify throughout the body and mind. Thanks for helping me leave those ghosts behind.
Yours are the hands of a healer. Acupuncture and allied Chinese medicine treatments complement and extend your gift. How lucky for everyone who is touched by you!
Love and best wishes,
AH

Linda Joy Stone has been providing episodic acupuncture treatments for me for over 3 years. The treatments have been remarkably successful for treating inflammation, pain, and, discomfort.
Linda is a warm and accepting individual who shares a connected empathy with her clients and projects a strong sense of caring and positive energy. Her personal nature and her clinical expertise combine to provide the very best qualities in a health care provider. She is truly a healer of mind, body, and spirit.
I highly recommend her as an acupuncture clinician, a healer, and a very special and spiritual person.
It has been a pleasure to write this letter.
May all beings find peace.

“My first visit with Linda Joy Stone was recommended by a physician friend who had worked for two years in Dr. Andrew Weil’s Program in Integrative Medicine at the U of A. I was over 80 years old and had lots of aches and pains in various joints all over me!
I can’t say that all of the aches are completely gone, but they are eased and I am a more relaxed and comfortable old lady looking toward a future! Linda is an excellent ‘good listener’ and I am confident that she knows what she is doing as she guides patients back toward a balanced and healthful Life.” — Lois E.

I have been feeling much better these days, both emotionally and physically. I am sure that the acupuncture has had a very positive affect on me and I am grateful for this more than I can say. I think the treatments removed some long-standing emotional blocks and I have been having insights into my life, health, etc., which is wonderful of course. The acid reflux has been much more under control too which has made my life much more manageable. This is a real blessing.
I want to express to you my gratitude for the healing you have brought about in my life. Thank you. JB

“I write in praise of acupuncture and how it has helped me. Physical pain led me to seek acupuncture ten years ago. Unexpectedly and by far the greatest gift has been heart and emotional healing. Since that time, I have experienced many positive changes such as smoking cessation and regular menstrual cycles.
I view acupuncture as my ‘primary care physician’. I feel my whole being is addressed at each visit. When you can view yourself in this entirety, healing is already happening. Linda Joy Stone has helped me to listen to my body and take better care of myself. She practices her gift with honesty and humility. She shows compassion and walks with me through the healing process, as though my suffering were now hers, too. She has introduced me to other paths of healing through books, nutrition and spiritual teachers.
When I receive acupuncture, I trust that whatever arises is necessary for my healing. I continue to heal, renew hope, face stress and deal with the challenges of life more effectively. I could not imagine getting through the daily stresses that we as humans and our planet undergo without the benefits of acupuncture.” — DMO, Registered Dental Hygienist

“No matter what life dealt me during the day…I have always had the ability to wake up the next morning ready to start anew. Since I began acupuncture, I find I don’t have to wait to experience the same benefits gained following a good night’s sleep. My treatments seemed to have increased my coping skills… allowing me to lower my stress level, find joy, and increase my overall sense of well being throughout the course of any given day. For this, I feel blessed!—KM

“Stress manifests itself in many ways. For myself, stress manifests itself either in my shoulders or in my most recent case, elevated blood pressure. I am only
30 yrs old and my BP should not have been as high as it was. I was also having issues with depression and anxiety-riddled thought patterns. I was far less
optimistic than usual and fell into a downward spiral that I have slid into before. As per a very wise nurse’s recommendation, I sought healing through Chinese Medicine; specifically acupuncture. My stress levels feel much more manageable and that spiral of thinking that I would get caught up in can now be rationally dealt with. I can better resolve potentially stressful occurrences that would initially evoke a fiery response and a gross misunderstanding of something very small and inconsequential. I found a way to harness a more peaceful and rational place; I am calm. With the balancing of a low sodium diet, regular exercise for 30 minutes a day, positive thinking and acupuncture, I feel that something inside me that has been in need of healing has begun to do so.” — GG

“I sought acupuncture on the recommendation of my naturopathic physician. I was having trouble adjusting to my first year of menopause, which was causing anxiety and panic attacks. The actual menopause symptoms, i.e., hot flashes, night sweats, etc., did not bother me as much as the anxiety did. I very much wanted to get through this time without hormone replacement therapy.
I was to the point that I considered not working because of the stress in simply walking across the parking lot. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first whether the treatment would work, because I wasn’t in any “pain”. However, Linda Joy Stone was very patient and, after a month of sessions and two Chinese herbal remedies, I was so much improved that I no longer had to worry if I could work or be sociable again. I continue to make maintenance appointments just to take the edge off only when necessary now.” — CB

“More than six years after a fall while running, I underwent knee surgery that went bad; as a result my right knee lacks about 10-15% of its ability to straighten. As a result of that, I am putting chronic stress on the joint. Although there's really nothing that Linda could have done to regain that percentage, given that I didn't see her until more than five years after the surgery, I see her on an as-need basis for flare-ups of the pain and stiffness. Can't explain how it works, and don't care to know too much, but it has seriously benefited me in my physical, psychic and spiritual life.”—MS

“I’ve been seeing Linda Joy Stone for acupuncture treatments for nearly four years now. I had been having repeated colds and upper respiratory infections, especially sinus infections, and having to take repeated courses of antibiotics. Her treatments have strengthened my immune system and increased my energy level.
Since beginning the treatments I have rarely been sick. My most recent illness, a cold followed by a sinus infection, was two years ago. I did not see a doctor and took no medication, not even an antibiotic. My own immune system healed me in less than two weeks. I will definitely continue Linda Joy’s acupuncture treatments to keep my health and strength at their best.” — RS

“Acupuncture has been an important part of my pain treatment for post-traumatic fibromyalgia for 18 years, in which I have greatly benefited. When ‘western’ medications affected my stomach with side effect symptoms, acupuncture greatly brought relief to my body as a whole. Holistically, acupuncture treatments are very calming and relaxing, similar to meditation.
Acupuncturists are a special group of practitioners who listen so to benefit their patients in the best manner possible. Linda Joy Stone is a great asset to this ancient treatment and I would encourage people to seek this mode of treatment.” — VR

“I took great pleasure from getting such fantastic acupuncture treatments. My first visit to Linda Joy’s office to get a treatment was a paramount experience. I felt as if I was in ‘total bliss’. Nothing could cause me any discomfort. I was able to meditate during the fabulous treatment and wished that our session never ended. It is impossible to describe the experience in words. So I would just like to say thank you so much for blessing me with such a spectacular visit.” — KKS

“I was pleased and honored to be invited to comment on what acupuncture means to me because acupuncture and my relationship with Linda Stone have contributed to my well-being in many ways.
In 2002 I was a patient in the Integrative Medicine program at the University of Arizona. I had entered the program because, as a 50-year-old woman in peri-menopause, I was experiencing a number of unpleasant symptoms, including abdominal pain from uterine fibroids and a lot of anxiety. I didn't want to have a hysterectomy and take hormones and anti-anxiety drugs, as other women in my family had done, so I had decided to seek alternative forms of help and healing. Among other things, the Integrative Medicine program recommended acupuncture and referred me to Linda Stone. I had my first acupuncture treatment in the fall of 2002.
At that first session Linda asked pertinent questions about my symptoms and medical history, and she explained some of the basics of traditional Chinese medicine. I remember that she told me TCM considers balance to be a key to health and that TCM uses treatment to bring physical and emotional parts of the whole human that I am back into balance. I was also impressed with the depth and range of Linda’s knowledge about women’s medical problems, particularly in regard to menopause, so I felt confident and hopeful. My first treatment took the edge off the abdominal pain I was experiencing, and over the next few days I began to feel a little less anxious. This was, I felt, an auspicious beginning.
The concept of "moving qi" was a new one to me, but over time I became convinced that TCM was an impressive and effective form of medicine. Each time I lay in the comfortable treatment room, I felt that I was doing something beneficial for my body and my spirit. Over time, as I continued to come for treatments and take an "entangled qi" herbal formula, I felt subtly but noticeably better. My pain and anxiety continued to diminish, and though I had a short period during which I experienced some hot flashes, I didn’t really need to consider hormone replacement therapy.
Even now, when it's been nearly a month since my last acupuncture session, I begin to look forward to my next session. I find that my monthly acupuncture "tune-up" helps promote the balance of physical, emotional and spiritual parts of the whole me. When people ask me about my experience with acupuncture, I tell them honestly that though I knew about acupuncture's effectiveness as a pain reliever, I hadn't expected that my overall sense of well-being would be enhanced by it and that it would contribute to my ability to be a more spiritually and emotionally healthy person. Yet it has!
Though I am very positive about my experience with acupuncture as a form of alternative medicine, I also think that my relationship with Linda has contributed much to the healing process. When someone asks if I can recommend her as an acupuncturist, I answer honestly that I have tremendous confidence in Linda. She is unfailingly professional, kind, helpful, and wise, and she is an intuitive and effective healer. I felt comfortable with her from the beginning, but over the years our rapport has grown, and I consider her to be a valued friend. I look forward to each session as a time to get feedback from Linda and to enjoy her humorous and humane approach to life's problems and joys.
More than five years have passed since my first acupuncture treatment, and I am now safely through the "change." Though I no longer experience the physical difficulties of menopause, I continue to go for a monthly treatment because acupuncture and my relationship with Linda are now essential parts of my life.” — AWE
